Each month our Film Club brings you closer to the most important and interesting figures of contemporary architecture. For this month’s screening we present a portrait of Xu Tiantian, the founder of DnA_Design and Architecture. Tiantian is known for her “architectural acupuncture” and is a pioneering figure in the field of rural revitalization in China and at the forefront of creating transformative architectural interventions. “Architectural Acupuncture” is a holistic method aimed at the comprehensive social and economic revitalization of rural communities. A precisely crafted treatment addressing the specific cultural, historical, and economic conditions of each community. The film is produced by Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) - an international research institution and museum. Irene Chin, Curator at CCA, will give a short introduction to the film.
Three of Xu Tiantian’s projects are presented in the exhibition Memoryscapes, which is currently on view at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. We urge you to go see the show!
