On sacred space, light, and quiet monumentality
7 Chapels is a meditative, non-narrative film exploring the intersection of landscape, architecture, and silence. Photographers Jens Weber and Orla Connolly, together with composer Wolfram Oettl, portray seven small chapels in the Swabian Danube Valley – each designed by a different architect, including John Pawson and Christoph Mäckler. With long, steady shots and a simple piano score, the film invites viewers to take in the chapels’ materiality, light, and atmosphere.
The screening will be introduced by the directors of the film and architect Nicolai Overgaard from Rørbæk og Møller Arkitekter
