During the Cold War, Swedish day laborer Karl-Göran Persson is busy converting his home into a fort. Here he can barricade himself together with the other residents of the small Skåne village where he lives. He has also made room for the Swedish king. His sinewy body never stands still. When he is not harvesting or threshing grain for the community's farmers, he is collecting scrap metal and junk that he can use for his fortress before the enemy arrives.
Former CPH:DOX winner John Skoog (‘Ridge’, 2019) is back with a gorgeous, poetic black-and-white film based on the life and fate of a real-life character in the area where Skoog himself grew up. French cult star Denis Lavant literally carries the film on his weary shoulders in the role of the lost soul who may be a prophet in rags.
