Donnie Darko – Director's Cut

On October 2, 1988, troubled teenager Donnie Darko (Jake Gyllenhaal) encounters a figure in a demonic rabbit costume while sleepwalking. The figure introduces himself as "Frank" and tells Donnie that the world will end in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes and 12 seconds, moments before a jet engine crashes into Donnie's bedroom.

Crediting Frank with saving his life by causing him to sleepwalk out of the house, Donnie starts to do his bidding while gradually trying to uncover the strange events around him, which may or may not be related to Time Travel, an alternate dimension.

The story unfolds in 1988 and is a musical time capsule with songs from Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, Joy Division and Echo and the Bunnymen, along with a slew of excellent supporting characters played by none other than Drew Barrymore, Patrick Swayze, Jena Malone, Seth Rogen (in his film debut!) and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
