Dracula (2026) - English subtitles

A flamboyant director is at his wit’s end: he wants to make a film about Dracula but is paralyzed by writer’s block. Salvation comes in the form of a shiny new toy: Dr. AI Judex 0.0, a generative A.I. that dutifully spits out “brilliant” ideas. Soon his vampire movie veers wildly into detours featuring Murnau, Ceaușescu, and an orchard of dildos. In his latest work, Romanian master-provocateur Radu Jude embraces bad taste with abandon. Yet this anarchic stew morphs—unsurprisingly in his hands—into a layered reflection on nationalist mythmaking, capitalism, and the state of cinema itself. Jude even calls it his “first audience film,” proudly noting it’s packed with violence, heteronormative sex, and dumb jokes. Nobody does it quite like Radu Jude.
