Terrassen presents: DÓRA MAURER

Terrassen presents a double screening of films by Hungarian artist Dóra Maurer at Gloria Biograf on Wednesday October 21 at 20h00.

Dóra Maurer (1937-2026), who passed away in February this year at the age of 88, was a key figure in the Hungarian art scene since the 1960’s. Known for her experimental approach, she explored the intersections of different media throughout her career, working across painting, printmaking, photography, film, and installation. Drawing on geometry, colour theory, and theories of perception, her work combines playful experimentation with scientific observations and the presentation of multiple possibilities. Through the deconstruction of simple actions, she invites viewers to perceive movement itself rather than static representations of it and to consider alternative outcomes.
